For years we have all commented on the fact that DAA lacks a theatre club. We believe that the arts should be given more importance in DAA, and as such look forward to raising awareness for the performing arts through this club. They are excited to provide students with an outlet for their creativity. The club will focus on tackling types of theatre that members are interested in, and that are not usually covered in school, such as musical theatre or movie scenes. Members will be given a broader understanding of theatre as a whole, all while having fun and taking a break from the academic rigors of everyday life. In addition, members also have an option to take part in improvisation. This will give them a chance to strengthen overall improvisation skills which are taught in school, as well as their on stage acting. Members will be given opportunities to perform and compete, with the goal of applying the techniques they’ve learnt.
Commitment/Experience Necessary:
Commitment/Experience Necessary:
- Weekly meetings will be held, however the schedule and club leaders are flexible.
- Experience with theatre is not necessary, however a willingness to discover new things, work hard, and improve, is a must.
- Students who attend more frequently and prepare well for performances will receive more opportunities to perform both inside and outside of the club.
- Student leaders will also be chosen based on the level of commitment shown to the Club Presidents.
