Vision Statement: Our vision is to have around 30 people show up constantly to the club to have fun and also get everyone to try out for the school team with the improvements made on their badminton skills in the club.
Mission Statement: Our mission is to have a constant number of people show up every week to play badminton with their friends and family, most importantly, to have fun. We want everyone to play for a decent amount of time and not have anyone sitting out for too long. Also, prior to having fun, our mission is to get everyone to improve on their badminton skills by stacking experience or watching other players play.
About the club’s activities: The Badminton Club focuses on Badminton only, however, there are different types of games you can play within the club. Firstly, we allow the players to have the freedom of choice of what they want to play. This can include: Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles, or even play 3v3 if they choose to. The type of game that has constantly attracted many players to play is King of the Court. Usually one court is occupied for King of the Court, and players may choose to play Singles, Doubles, or Mixed Doubles as the choice for the King of the Court. King of the Court allows quick rotation as it is usually only played up to 3 points maximum; in addition to that, it also allows the players to enjoy and have fun as they watch the two teams compete against each other. Leaving this aside, players may choose to play an actual game that consists up to 3 sets of 21 points. The Badminton Club offers different types of games that satisfy the needs of the players, and the freedom of choice of each player allows everyone to play what they want to play.
Commitment level necessary to be in the club: Because we do not have any set “teams” or courts within the Badminton Club, the commitment level doesn’t need to be high to necessarily be in the club. Although we suggest people to come every week to get exercise, have fun, and relieve stress, we also respect the fact that not everyone has time on a Friday to come out and play. Badminton Club is, and always will be, a club in which friends and family can spare time during the weekend to have fun. Having said that, badminton coaches do come out every week to watch the players and their commitment to the club and the sport in order to see the potential in each of the players. Therefore, although we do not force a high commitment level to be in the club, it is recommended for everyone to show commitment to the club and sport, which can result in a great outcome.
Frequency of Meetings: Badminton Club will be ONCE a week every FRIDAY from 1pm to 3pm in the High School Gym. There will be no other meetings. and their commitment to the club and the sport in order to see the potential in each of the players.
