Model Arab League (MAL) is similar to the more recognisable club that is Model United Nations (MUN) in the aspects of organization, format etc. The league consists of 193 member states. An important difference between the two is that MAL only focuses on the 22 member states that are apart of the Arab region. Students do not need to be Arab to participate as the conferences are in english and the only Arab aspect to the club is that we discuss issues that occur in the Middle Eastern Region. There is a conference in United States which we are planning to participate in.
Goals to be achieved by this club:
1. To expose to DAA students the history and culture of the Middle East.
a. Meetings will be held to discuss and debate issues in the middle east for students to have a better understanding of what is going on in the region they live in.
2. To help students with public speaking a. In conferences students will be able to speak in front of other delegates which will improve their public speaking.
3. To attend the conference held in America.
a. This will be done by forming a team that is capable enough to attend the conference.
4. To keep in close contact with the National Council on US-Arab Relations.
a. This will be done by constantly emailing the head (Mr Zach Hrynowski) and asking for updates to improve our club.
5. To give students an opportunity to develop leadership skills.
a. Since students are put into teams they will need to research for information and take leadership. This club will really help students develop an understanding of the region where they live and help them understand the economy and issues in the region.
