The following information is from the student leader:
Goals:
- Raise fitness levels of the school
- The students participating in the club will do swimming exercises and practice sessions within the pool, allowing them to exercise in a coordinated, supervised environment.
- To increase the enjoyment of swimming (Interest to swim team)
- We will also hopefully play fun water games inside the pool, and will be taught many various things within the sessions, allowing for a deeper appreciation of swimming as well as create an enjoyment for water and sports related to water.
- To ease the pressure of high school students
- By swimming in a cool environment, the students will lose a lot of their stress as they will focus on simple movements within the water. It will also be a nice way to cool off during the near summer months.
- To educate students how to format a proper workout schedule.
- Students, especially those in the later years, will have to learn how to exercise by themselves without the guidance of others, by training and learning effective routines from Mr. Fil, they will be able to comfortably train and exercise themselves in the future. As well as this, sophomores have multiple assessments in P.E allowing them to create a workout plan, so having some backup knowledge would definitely help
- To gain leadership in working out
- If there are enough people within the club, we would like to have a student or two create a workout schedule for the session, where students of similar level or skill can test out next exercises. This will give the students a sense of leadership and independency as it gives them the freedom to create their own plan and have fun doing it with friends and peers.
